March 20, 2017 –Pensacola, Fl—One of the oldest seafood restaurants in Pensacola — known locally for its seafood gumbo, fried mullet, grilled grouper and stuffed Gulf shrimp — has been serving the community for more than 30 years.

Sam’s Seafood, Steak and Spirits — located at 420 South A Street — will celebrate its 34th anniversary on April 1 by introducing new menu items, a revamped wine and cocktail list, and various lunch and dinner specials and discounts throughout the month.

Sam’s Seafood first opened its doors in 1983 at the corner of A and Main streets downtown. Owned by Sam Camariotes, Jr., the restaurant’s quality seafood menu and southern casual dining experience quickly amassed a loyal customer base. Over the years, the family-run restaurant has become a Pensacola staple and a local landmark.

Today, Sam Camariotes III, manages the business, though his father still remains close by as a consultant.

“For a restaurant to successfully endure for 34 years is a rarity,” Camariotes III said. “To accomplish this milestone while being locally owned and family managed is even rarer.”

Camariotes III believes the key to his restaurant’s longevity is simple — serve only the freshest Gulf Coast seafood and best in-house, hand-cut steaks, and pair that with excellent staff and service.

“We have a very loyal customer base and we pride ourselves on knowing our customers, our friends, on a first-name basis,” said Camariotes.

“To commemorate the anniversary and thank our customers, we will be offering some new specials — featuring favorites from the past and introducing exciting new dishes,” he said. “We look forward to many more years of quality food and service in Pensacola.”

Sam’s Seafood, Steak and Spirits seats 160 and is open at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. For more information, call 850-432-6626 or go to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
