April 29, 2016 –Pensacola, Fl—Visit Pensacola is launching two new interactive tourism campaigns on Saturday, May 7, in conjunction with the celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week. The campaigns are part of Visit Pensacola’s goal to attract family travel to the area and generate engagement among the online community to share photos and videos of favorite things to do and see in the Pensacola and Perdido Key area.

Pensacola Explorer Passport: Visit Pensacola invites locals and visitors to become “Pensacola Explorers” with a new passport and activity guide highlighting 25 unique attractions in the Pensacola Bay Area covering everything from nature to history to science and archaeology to arts and culture.

The “Pensacola Explorer Passport” adventure begins when kids and families download a passport online at explorepensacola.com or pick up a passport at one of three Pensacola Visitor Centers.

“Explorers” are encouraged to visit sites, collect stamps and post pictures on social media in order to earn the title “Pensacola Explorer.” Those who collect four or more stamps and return to any of the Visitor Centers will receive Pensacola Explorer prizes.

Participants are asked to share their adventures on social media as they go from location to location, tagging their photos and videos with #ExplorePcola along the way. Visit Pensacola will select photos and videos to share on the Explorer site for all to see.

#Pensagram “Shoot It, Share It” Contest: Visit Pensacola invites locals and visitors to share their photos and videos capturing all the exciting things the Pensacola Bay Area has to offer. To enter, anyone can post with the hashtag #Pensagram. To enter the contest, participants can upload their favorite images and videos to pensagram.net for the chance to earn prizes. Visit Pensacola is looking for the best photos and videos in six topic categories: Great Outdoors, Wet & Wild, Beach Life, Talk of the Town, Fun & Games, and Culture.

The first 250 photo and video entries will win a Pensagram T-shirt. Cash prizes will be awarded for photos or videos chosen by Visit Pensacola for use in official advertising. Participants can win $250 for each video and $100 for each photo that’s selected.

“The Explorer Passport and Pensagram campaigns are going to be an exciting addition to our summer tourist season,” said Steve Hayes, president of Visit Pensacola. “We are looking forward to seeing partners, locals, students and visitors share their photos and videos of what they are exploring in the Pensacola Bay Area and what they enjoy most.”
