National Flight Academy Hosts STEM Saturday

Desert Survival
Saturday, October 26, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Pensacola, Fla. (October 9, 2019) – The National Flight Academy will host STEM Saturday on Saturday, October 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 3rd  – 8th grade students. October’s STEM Saturday topic is “Desert Survival.”

The National Flight Academy’s October STEM Saturday will teach elementary students about desert flora and fauna, as well as how to make a water collection system. Middle school students will have an opportunity to learn about pathfinding with a map and compass, as well as building their own water filtration system.

Like the National Flight Academy’s other programs, STEM Saturdays are designed to address the serious concerns of declining science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills in our country. The Academy’s mission is to inspire students to pursue STEM academic and professional paths. Through the STEM Saturday program, the National Flight Academy appeals to younger elementary-aged children.

Visit https://tinyurl.com/yxz29nlg to register as space is limited for each session. Registration closes October 21 at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $30 per child and lunch is provided.
