FDOT to Perform Routine Inspections on Mid Bay Bridge and Spence Parkway
October 8-10

Niceville, Fla. (October 2, 2019) – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be performing routine inspections on State Road 293 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, through Thursday, Oct. 10. Intermittent lane closures are to be expected.

Inspections will begin on the south end of the Mid Bay Bridge over Choctawhatchee Bay on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and will continue northbound until completion on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, inspections will take place on Spence Parkway over Deer Moss Creek and Foxhead Branch Creek between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in work zones and to expect traffic build up.

About the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority
The Mid-Bay Bridge Authority is a dependent special District of the State located in Okaloosa County, created in 1986 by the Florida Legislature to finance, build, and oversee a bridge across Choctawhatchee Bay along with roads connecting to it.  The Authority has five voting members, appointed by the Governor and the District Three Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, or his/her designee, who serves as a non-voting member.  An Executive Director and staff manage day-to-day administration of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority.
