FDOT to Perform Overnight Maintenance on the Mid-Bay Bridge This Week

Niceville, Fla. (September 17, 2019) – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be performing maintenance operations on the Mid-Bay Bridge starting 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19 to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20. Drivers may encounter lane restrictions and traffic disruptions during this time. Flagmen will provide for maintenance of traffic.

All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling in the work zones and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

About the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority
The Mid-Bay Bridge Authority is a dependent special District of the State located in Okaloosa County, created in 1986 by the Florida Legislature to finance, build, and oversee a bridge across Choctawhatchee Bay along with roads connecting to it.  The Authority has five voting members, appointed by the Governor and the District Three Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, or his/her designee, who serves as a non-voting member.  An Executive Director and staff manage day-to-day administration of the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority.
