Robotics & Future Technology

Feb. 21, 2019, Pensacola, Fla. The National Flight Academy will host a STEM Saturday program on March 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 3^rd – 8^th grade students. March’s STEM Saturday topic is “Robotics & Future Technology.”

Students will learn how the Navy and other industries use robots, and the importance of robots in certain jobs. Then the class will be given a design challenge to create its own robot that can be used to help extinguish a fire. Additionally, these students will fly the X-47B in the National Flight Academy’s simulators.

Like the National Flight Academy’s other programs, STEM Saturdays are designed to address the serious concerns of declining science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills in our country. The Academy’s mission is to inspire students to pursue STEM academic and professional paths. Through the STEM Saturday program, the National Flight Academy appeals to younger elementary-aged children.

The National Flight Academy, located aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida, is designed to address the serious concerns of declining Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills and standards in our country.
