National Flight Academy Announces Summer Cyber Security Overnight Program

May 23, 2017 –Pensacola, Fl—High school students will have a new summer camp opportunity to learn computer programming at the National Flight Academy’s Codebreakers program scheduled for Monday, July 17 – Wednesday, July 19.

Students will learn about cyber security principles and how it affects our world. Next, they will focus on methods of encryption and ciphers and test their skills in small-team based competitions. The students will explore the basic concepts of computer programming and object orientation in order to create java programs. Lastly, competing in teams, students will test their skills as they try to create an unbreakable coded phrase and decode the opposing team’s message.

The cost for the NFA’s three-day Codebreaker program is $399. Registration is open to rising 10th – 12th grade students and the registration deadline is Friday, June 16.

There will be a graduation ceremony at the end of the three-day program where family and friends are encouraged to attend.
